I am an editor with 20 years’ experience, and, yes, I am a Hemingway. Ernest Hemingway is my great-grandfather. Through my literary family, I have learned quite a lot about the craft of writing. I have a wealth of experience editing journalism, novels, short stories, and dramatic writing. I have been a reader and a judge for the Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition for over 10 years. I am also the editor-in-chief of a two-year-old literary magazine, www.chumliterarymagazine.com.
For a reasonable (and negotiable) fee, I will edit your novel, book-length work of nonfiction, collection of short stories, play, screenplay, short story, essay, paper, humor piece, the list may go on … I will devote a large block of time exclusively to your piece, working with you to edit for clarity, tone, character and story development. If it is a nonfiction piece, I will pay specific attention to the subject matter, including fact-checking if needed. In either case, whether the work is fiction or nonfiction, the focus will be on what you, the writer, are trying to accomplish. I will also edit for spelling, grammar, and punctuation so that your piece will be a finished work, submittable to any publishing house or magazine.

I will also help you promote and sell your work, if you so choose, shopping it around to publishing houses, or submitting it to the best literary magazines and journals for your manuscript.
I understand and love the craft of writing, for its depth, creativity, and the way it connects people in a way that no other medium can. Reading a well-crafted piece of writing provides a depth of knowledge of the subject matter and characters that cannot be found anywhere else. It would be my honor to help you to share your knowledge or tell your story through the ancient medium of writing.

Please send a query email introducing yourself and your manuscript to:

Thank you for considering me as your editor and/or literary agent. It will be my honor to help you with your work.

                                                                       Cheers,

                                                                      Cristen Hemingway Jaynes
